Ondo APC Governorship Aspirant Alleges Sham Primary Election

Chief Olusola Oke, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has raised concerns over the conduct of the primary election in Ondo State, alleging that no proper election took place across the 203 wards. Oke, speaking through his campaign organisation's spokesman, Ojo Oyewamide, described the process as a sham that defied decency and democratic norms.

According to Oke, the primary election materials were not distributed as expected, leading to chaos and confusion in many areas. He claimed that his supporters were subjected to harassment and violence, with some being beaten and intimidated by political thugs and secret cult members allegedly hired by another aspirant.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, however, participated in the primary held at Ugbo Ward 4, Obenla, Ilaje local government, expressing confidence in the democratic process. He emphasized the importance of unity and cohesion among stakeholders and reiterated his commitment to transparency and fairness in the party's candidate selection process.

The governor described the primary as a special homecoming for him, expressing gratitude to his constituents and party members for their support. He highlighted the significance of reconnecting with his roots and emphasized the need for collective efforts in advancing the development agenda of Ondo State.
