Public Holidays

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has announced Thursday and Friday as public holidays in honor of the late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. The decision aims to allow residents to participate in Akeredolu's burial activities.

Aiyedatiwa, speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, stated that the burial activities for Akeredolu, which commenced last Thursday, would include the Ajabue, a traditional rite performed by Akeredolu's kinsmen.

The schedule includes a Special Court Session in Akure, a commendation service at the Akure Township Stadium, an Evening of Tributes at St. Andrews Church, and a Service of Songs. The Candlelight Procession and World Gyration by the Kegites Club will also take place, culminating in a Funeral Service at St. Andrews Church on Imola Street and interment at the burial site in Owo.
