Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command clarified on Tuesday that no arrests had been made in connection with the looting of a truck suspected to be carrying palliatives along the Ondo-Akure Expressway. The incident occurred when the truck, traveling from Ondo town to Akure, broke down and was reportedly looted by residents of Akure.

According to reports, residents of the Adebowale area of Akure discovered the contents of the truck, which included foodstuffs in cartons bearing the photo of President Bola Tinubu. This discovery led to a mob descending on the truck to loot its contents. The looters, described as mostly Okada riders and artisans in the area, took advantage of the situation and made away with as many cartons as possible.

Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the state Police Public Relations Officer, stated that while the command was still investigating the matter, no arrests had been made yet. She emphasized that the police were actively looking into the incident.
