The Oyo State Police Command has honoured six of its officers for their dedication, professionalism, and outstanding service in the month of August.

At a monthly gathering held at the command headquarters on Thursday, Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna presented commendation certificates to the officers. The awardees include ASP Innocent Egaji, Insp. Obayomi David, Insp. Kazeem Ogunbiyi, Insp. Esther Samuel, Insp. Samson Oduola, and STW Oloyede Temitope.

Speaking after the presentation, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Adewale Osifeso, explained that the recognition aligns with Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun’s directive to reward exemplary officers on a monthly basis. He noted that the gesture would not only boost morale but also inspire other personnel to perform better in their duty posts.

“This commendation is a way of encouraging our officers to give their very best in service while upholding professionalism,” Osifeso said. “It also serves as a reminder to those falling short that with commitment and diligence, they too can be recognised.”

On behalf of the awardees, Insp. Innocent Egaji expressed gratitude to God and to the state command’s leadership for the honour. He assured that the recognised officers remain committed to serving the Nigeria Police Force and the nation at large.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to build a motivated and disciplined police force, capable of tackling security challenges across the state and the country.
