Oyo

The Oyo State Police Command on Monday appealed to residents to help identify a woman whose lifeless body was discovered in Egbeda Local Government Area.

According to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, a report was received on Saturday, March 14, from a good Samaritan who found the body at a car wash stand near Ile Marun, Iwo Road, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. The woman was reportedly lying in a nearby drainage channel.

Ayanlade said a team of police officers, led by the Divisional Crime Officer of Egbeda Division, promptly responded to the scene. A preliminary examination revealed visible marks of violence on the head, suggesting possible foul play.

“The corpse was photographed, evacuated, and deposited at the Adeoyo State Hospital Mortuary, Ring Road, Ibadan, for preservation and autopsy,” he added.

“The command assures the public that no stone will be left unturned in unraveling this unfortunate incident and bringing anyone responsible to justice,” he said, urging residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to support law enforcement efforts.
