The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has reached a strategic agreement with Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals to ensure the uninterrupted availability of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) during the festive season and beyond.
Led by its National President, Dr. Billy Gillis-Harry, PETROAN held a successful negotiation on December 2, 2024, at the Dangote Refinery complex in Lagos. The agreement was disclosed in a press statement issued on Friday in Abuja by PETROAN’s National Public Relations Officer, Dr. Joseph Obele.
Dr. Gillis-Harry commended Dangote Refinery’s Vice President and Managing Director, Mr. Devakumar V. G. Edwin, for the cooperative strategies adopted to maintain steady fuel supply throughout the year-end festivities. PETROAN established a transactional relationship with Dangote Refinery, including a reserved monthly fuel volume for PETROAN members, along with favorable payment modalities and pricing terms to benefit the general public by ensuring product availability and affordability.
The association’s distribution technical committee has implemented measures to prevent fuel shortages, supported by ongoing production at the Port Harcourt refinery and Dangote Refinery. PETROAN reassured Nigerians of smooth travel during the festive period, urging against panic buying and the unsafe storage of petroleum products at home.
PETROAN also called on stakeholders to support NNPC Retail Ltd and Dangote Refinery in maintaining a stable fuel supply.
“We are confident that our efforts will avert any fuel scarcity concerns. All PETROAN retail outlets across Nigeria are on green alert to guarantee seamless service during the festive season and beyond,” Dr. Obele stated.
