The police have handed over Clement Ikolo Ogenerukeywe, the king of Ewu Kingdom in Delta State, to the military. This action followed his declaration as a wanted person by the Defence Headquarters, along with seven others. Delta Police Command's Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, confirmed the handover.
According to Police Commissioner Abaniwonda Olufemi, Ogenerukeywe "turned himself in" shortly after being declared wanted. The monarch arrived at the Police Command headquarters at 6:41 pm.
Before surrendering to the police, Ogenerukeywe denied involvement in the killing of 17 Soldiers in the Okuama Community during an interview on TVC. He expressed surprise at being implicated, stating that he had no part in or support for such actions, emphasizing his human philosophy and Catholic faith as deterrents to such crimes.
The Defence Headquarters also declared Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (Aka Amagben), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, Reuben Baru, and Igoli Ebi wanted for their alleged roles in the military personnel's killing.
