The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved a wide-ranging redeployment of senior officers across the Nigeria Police Force in a move aimed at strengthening operations and improving service delivery nationwide.
The directive, announced in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, is part of ongoing efforts to enhance leadership capacity and ensure a more effective command structure across various units of the force.
According to the statement, several Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) have been reassigned to key departments and zones. AIG Ado Emmanuel has been posted to Research and Planning at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, while AIG Joseph Eribo will head the Department of Armament. AIG Miller Dantawaye takes over at the Department of Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche moves to Training and Development.
Other notable postings include AIG Olanrewaju Ogunlowo to the Police Affairs Branch, AIG Dahiru Mohammed to Zone 15 in Maiduguri, and AIG Dankombo Morris to Zone 4 in Makurdi. AIG Bello Shehu has been deployed to Zone 14 in Katsina, while AIG Ibrahim Maikaba will oversee Legal Services. AIG Ahmed Musa has been assigned to Community Policing.
In Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh has been posted to Zone 2, while AIG Simeon Akpanudom will head the FCID Annex. AIG Haruna Olufemi has been deployed to the Special Protection Unit at the Force Headquarters.
At the level of Commissioners of Police (CPs), several state commands have new heads. CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya takes charge in Jigawa, CP Olugbenga Abimbola moves to Oyo, and CP Olubode Ojajuni has been posted to Ogun. CP Michael Falade will oversee Ekiti, while CP Yakubu Dankaro has been assigned to Adamawa.

CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed will now head the Federal Capital Territory Command, while CP Olatunji Fatai takes over in Lagos. Other deployments include CP Morkwap Dongshal to Taraba, CP Ahmed Bello to Zamfara, CP Umar Fagge to Katsina, and CP Hayatu Hassan to Sokoto.
The reshuffle also affected several specialised units. CP Akan Ezima has been appointed Director of the NPF National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja, while CP Abbas Sule moves to the Special Protection Unit. CP Ajo Ordue has been posted to INTERPOL in Abuja, and CP Mnwadiogbu Cletus becomes Deputy Commandant of the Police Academy.
Additional postings include assignments to SWAT, the Special Fraud Unit, K9 operations, community policing, and training institutions, reflecting a broad restructuring across operational and administrative arms of the force.
The police leadership stated that the changes take immediate effect, urging all affected officers to bring professionalism, discipline, and experience to their new roles as the force works to rebuild public trust and improve efficiency.
