President Bola Tinubu presented the 2024 budget for the Federal Capital Territory Administration to the House of Representatives on Tuesday. The letter from the President seeking the budget's passage was read during the plenary session but did not include specific estimates. The budget proposal aligns with the federal government's fiscal and development policy, focusing on revenue and expenditure targets of the FCTA.
The 2024 budget proposal emphasizes improving healthcare, creating jobs, empowering youth, and enhancing agricultural productivity to alleviate poverty. It also considers the 2024/2026 economic recovery and growth plan, as well as key assumptions in the 2024 budget. President Tinubu expressed confidence in the budget's alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda and requested the House's swift approval.
Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, presiding over the plenary, directed the request to the Committee on Appropriation for deliberation before the budget's passage.
