President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after a brief working visit to France. He arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, around 2:25 am on Friday. The President is scheduled to swear in the new Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) later today at the Council Chambers of the State House.

This follows the statutory retirement of Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who served as the 22nd CJN. The National Judicial Council (NJC), during its 106th meeting on August 15, recommended Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun to President Tinubu as the successor to Justice Ariwoola.

According to a statement released on Thursday by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, the swearing-in ceremony of the new CJN is set to take place today. Justice Kekere-Ekun's appointment marks a significant moment in the judiciary, as she steps into the role of the nation's highest judicial officer.
