President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted four tax reform bills to the House of Representatives, urging their swift consideration and passage. The bills, introduced at Thursday's plenary by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, are designed to align with the administration’s fiscal objectives.
The proposed legislation includes the Nigeria Tax Bill 2024, which aims to establish a solid fiscal framework for the country's tax system, and the Tax Administration Bill, intended to create a clear legal structure for tax operations and reduce disputes.

Additionally, the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Bill seeks to repeal the Federal Inland Revenue Service Act and replace it with the Nigeria Revenue Service. The Joint Revenue Board Establishment Bill will create a tax tribunal and a tax ombudsman to improve tax oversight.
President Tinubu emphasized that these reforms would strengthen the nation's fiscal institutions and support the government's broader economic goals.
