Tinubu

To revamp the economy, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has established two committees to ensure the comprehensive coordination and implementation of the Federal Government’s plan. These committees are the Presidential Economic Coordination Council (PECC) and the Economic Management Team Emergency Taskforce (EET).

The PECC, chaired by President Tinubu, comprises 31 members, including key government officials and members of the Organised Private Sector (OPS). On the other hand, the EET, headed by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Mr. Olawale Edun, will formulate and implement a consolidated emergency economic plan.

The establishment of these committees aims to bolster economic governance frameworks, ensuring robust and coordinated planning and implementation. They will focus on addressing immediate economic challenges and streamlining the execution of economic strategies.

The EET has the mandate to submit a comprehensive plan of economic interventions for 2024 to the PECC covering the next six months, for immediate implementation within two weeks of its inauguration. These actions are part of a unified strategy to enhance Nigeria's economic management architecture for improved performance.
