Activities along the Isheri-Idimu road came to a standstill when youths and residents of Alimosho Local Government protested on Thursday following an incident involving a Lagos Police taskforce van allegedly hitting a primary school pupil.
The pupil, who remains unidentified, was reportedly attempting to cross the road when the van, driving against traffic, struck her near the Idimu section of the road.
Eyewitnesses stated that the policemen, upon realizing the accident, quickly removed the child from the scene and fled to avoid confrontation with the angry youths.
This incident sparked a riot, with the youths blocking the road to voice their anger and frustration over the tragic event.
