Protesters Rally at Ikeja Underbridge Amid Heavy Security

Benin

Dozens of protesters have gathered at the Ikeja underbridge in Lagos, singing and dancing as they prepare to march to other parts of Ikeja. The organizers, many of whom are young people, express their frustration with the economic conditions and have vowed "days of rage" in their demonstrations.

Enterprise TV observed a heavy security presence, including operatives of the Lagos State Anti-Crime Outfit – Rapid Response Squad (RRS). Patrol vans, anti-riot gun trucks, and Black Marias are on the scene to maintain order and manage the protest.

The protesters, driven by economic hardships, aim to draw attention to their plight and demand action from the authorities. Despite the security measures, they remain determined to make their voices heard.

As the march progresses, the tension between the demonstrators and security forces will likely continue, highlighting the deep-seated issues driving the protest.
