Lagos, Nigeria – PUBG MOBILE, one of the world’s most popular mobile games, has released its much-anticipated Version 4.0 Update, introducing new game modes, performance improvements, and exclusive African-themed content.
At the center of the rollout is Wraithmoor Mansion, a haunted battleground filled with ghostly companions, supernatural enemies, and broomstick flights. Classic Mode now features the Mortar weapon, improved reloading, and smoother weapon handling, while the World of Wonder (WOW) mode expands with new creator tools, visual programming, vehicles, and custom items.
Version 4.0 also debuts UNFAIL Mode, where players compete as either Predators or Survivors. A collaboration with hit manga series Kaiju No. 8 brings transformation mechanics, themed gear, and exclusive characters into the game.
From September to November, players will enjoy limited-time events including the Spooky Soiree, Metro Royale: Chapter 28, C9S26 Season launch, RP A15 Royale Pass, and the Day of Gathering in October.
PUBG MOBILE is also investing in Africa’s youth through a Campus Ambassador Program in Nigeria and Kenya. University students can now host tournaments with cash prizes, create game content, and earn up to $500 monthly. Creative players can also enter design contests to have their work featured in-game.
On the tech side, the update introduces Super Smooth graphics, delivering up to 60fps with 30–50% less lag, reduced overheating, and improved battery efficiency. Download speeds have doubled, allowing faster match entry.
For the first time, PUBG MOBILE is launching Africa-specific in-game items, including:
A Zulu male avatar inspired by South African heritage
A Nigeria Independence Day avatar frame in green-white-green
A Kenyan bead gift reflecting Maasai artistry
A South Africa Heritage Day spray with national symbols
PUBG MOBILE says these features will let African players celebrate their cultures while enjoying cutting-edge mobile gaming.
