The Rivers State Police Command has arrested Felix Nwaobakata, commander of the local vigilante group ONELGA Security and Peace Advisory Committee (OSPAC), with two human skulls and other human parts at his hideout in Omoku. Nwaobakata is also a principal suspect in the murder of two brothers in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area on May 1, 2024, on allegations of kidnapping.
Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko announced the arrests in a statement issued in Port Harcourt. She revealed that the clampdown on OSPAC follows numerous complaints about their operations, including clashes with other security agencies and attacks on a police division. Seven other OSPAC members were also arrested for various crimes, including murder.

Iringe-Koko detailed an incident on May 9, 2024, when OSPAC abducted a member of the Hausa Indigenous Group in ONELGA. After the victim's abduction was reported, Nwaobakata refused several police invitations and coordinated an attack on the Omoku police division, which was repelled. Subsequent police operations led to the arrest of Nwaobakata and other OSPAC members.
The statement also highlighted another incident on May 3, 2024, where OSPAC members led by Friday Ogbuji ambushed and killed Innocent Didia, a Youth Leader from Egbeda Community in Emuoha LGA, following a peaceful protest. Rivers State Police Command has committed to further investigating these cases and addressing complaints of vigilante misconduct, ensuring community safety and legal compliance.
