Senate

In a historic move, the 10th Senate extended the implementation of the 2023 Appropriation Act and the 2023 Supplementary Appropriation Act to December 31, 2024. This extension allows the capital components of these acts to run concurrently with the capital allocation in the 2024 Appropriation Act.

The Senate's decision followed President Bola Tinubu's request, presented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele highlighted the need for the extension, noting that many capital projects remain incomplete.
