Senate President Godswill Akpabio has called on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to collaborate with and support the governors of the region to promote development in the Niger Delta. He made this statement during a thanksgiving reception for the NDDC commissioner representing Akwa Ibom state, Apostle Abasiandikan Nkono.
Akpabio emphasized the need for collective efforts to ensure seamless development in the region. He specifically mentioned the importance of supporting Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State, praising the governor for his efforts in uniting the state.
He said, "NDDC should support Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State. This governor is doing very well, especially in uniting the state. Not only him, but all the governors of the region so we can have seamless development in the region."
Akpabio's call for cooperation and synergy among regional leaders underscores the significance of working together to achieve progress in the Niger Delta. He emphasized the importance of proper consultations, especially with governors, for executing projects effectively in the region.
In response, Apostle Nkono celebrated God's faithfulness and thanked the Senate President for his role in transforming his life. He recounted how a prophetic utterance led him to meet Akpabio, which eventually led to his appointment as NDDC commissioner.
Nkono expressed his commitment to serving diligently and remaining loyal to Akpabio, promising to make sure the Senate President does not regret appointing him to the NDDC. He praised Akpabio for his impact on people's lives and pledged to do his best to contribute to the development of the Niger Delta under his leadership.
