Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured a 2-1 victory over Iran in an international friendly on Friday, with goals from Moses Simon and Akor Adams sealing the win.
The Super Eagles got off to a bright start, taking the lead in the 7th minute when Simon finished off a fine assist from Samuel Chukwueze. Nigeria maintained control and doubled their advantage early in the second half, as Akor Adams found the net in the 52nd minute after being set up by Ademola Lookman.
Iran responded in the 67th minute through Mehdi Taremi, reducing the deficit and setting up a tense finish. However, Nigeria held firm to see out the game and secure the victory.
The match served as part of Nigeria’s preparations for upcoming fixtures, giving head coach Eric Chelle the chance to test his squad and build team chemistry ahead of more competitive games.

Up next, the Super Eagles will face Jordan in another friendly on March 31 at the Mardan Stadium in Antalya, Turkey. The game is part of a four-nation tournament aimed at keeping teams competitive and aiding squad development.
