The Supreme Court has upheld the victory of Ahmed Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 11, 2023, Kogi State governorship election. In a judgment delivered on Friday, a five-member panel dismissed the appeal filed by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its candidate, Yakubu Muritala Ajaka, which was marked SC/CV/654/2024.
Justice Sadiq Umar, who authored and read the lead judgment, found that the appeal lacked merit and resolved all three issues identified for determination against the appellants. This ruling confirms Ododo's victory as the governor of Kogi State.
