Theft of Chief Imam’s Sacrificial Ram Sparks Outrage in Plateau Community

The Chief Imam of Mista Ali community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Imam Abdulkadir, faced an unfortunate incident on the eve of Ed-el-Kabir when his sacrificial ram mysteriously disappeared from where it was kept. The theft occurred during a heavy downpour on Saturday night, adding to the dismay of community members.

Malam Haruna Yaqub, another Imam in the community, expressed deep condemnation of the incident during his sermon following the Ed-el-Kabir prayers. He described the theft as both unfortunate and wicked, highlighting the religious significance of the ram and the intended purpose for which it was bought.

"The Ram of our Chief Imam, which he purposely bought to sacrifice, was stolen in the night. We are really shocked and perplexed by the incident. We were astonished to hear this story. This means that people are not God-fearing. It is scary that people have gone to the extent of stealing a ram meant for religious activity," Yaqub lamented.

He urged the community members to uphold God-fearing principles and refrain from engaging in criminal activities such as theft. Yaqub emphasized that every individual will ultimately be held accountable for their actions, both in this life and the hereafter.

The incident has sparked outrage and concern among the residents of Mista Ali community, reflecting broader sentiments about moral conduct and respect for religious practices.
