Tinubu Condemns kidnapping, Vows Justice for Victims in Borno and Kaduna

President Bola Tinubu has strongly denounced the recent abductions of vulnerable victims, including internally-displaced persons in Borno State and students in Kaduna State. In a statement released by his Media Adviser, Ajuri Ngelale, on Friday, the President directed security and intelligence agencies to swiftly rescue the victims and ensure that those responsible face justice for their reprehensible actions.

President Tinubu expressed confidence in the security chiefs' briefing on the two incidents, stating his firm commitment to the safe rescue of the victims. He emphasized that nothing less than the rescue of the abducted citizens is acceptable to him and the families awaiting their return, assuring that justice will be swiftly and decisively served.

Offering condolences to the families of the victims, President Tinubu assured them that efforts are underway to reunite them with their loved ones. In Kaduna State, about 280 pupils and teachers from government schools in Kuriga, Chikun LGA, were abducted by bandits who attacked the schools. Additionally, in Borno State, approximately 200 people, mostly women and children who had left IDP camps in search of firewood in Gamboru Ngala council area, were abducted by bandits near the border with Chad. These abductions, which occurred several days ago, were only reported on Wednesday due to limited access to information in the area, which has been a focal point for Boko Haram terrorism.
