President Bola Tinubu and former President Olusegun Obasanjo have expressed deep sadness over the death of respected industrialist and business leader, Otunba Adekunle Ojora, who passed away at the age of 93.
In a statement released on Wednesday, President Tinubu conveyed his condolences to the Lagos State Government, as well as the Ojora and Adele royal families, describing Ojora’s death as a major loss to Nigeria.
“The passing of Otunba Ojora is a significant loss to the country, the private and public sectors, and our traditional institutions,” the President said.
Tinubu described the late business mogul as a man of humility, perseverance, hard work, and generosity, noting that these values defined his long and impactful career. He added that Ojora made lasting contributions to nation-building through his service in both the public and private sectors.
According to the President, Ojora remained a respected figure whose experience and counsel benefited institutions at both national and subnational levels. He prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo also described Ojora’s death as painful, saying his absence would be difficult to fill within the family and the nation at large.

In a tribute issued through his media aide, Obasanjo described Ojora as an amiable and distinguished Nigerian who built a lasting legacy of integrity, wisdom, and dedication. He said the country had lost a notable captain of industry and commerce whose contributions to national development would be remembered for years to come.
“He was a great man, an ardent patriot, a frontline indigenous industrialist, an accomplished administrator, a foremost businessman, and a tireless philanthropist,” Obasanjo said.
The former President added that Ojora was widely respected for mentoring younger generations and offering wise counsel that earned him admiration across different sectors. He also noted that the late industrialist received several national and international honours in recognition of his service to Nigeria and humanity.
