President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted a bill to the House of Representatives seeking to legalize the recently agreed N70,000 minimum wage. This proposal follows extensive negotiations between Organised Labour, the Organised Private Sector, and the government.
In a letter read on the House floor on Tuesday, President Tinubu urged lawmakers to expedite the bill's passage, emphasizing the importance of its immediate implementation for the benefit of Nigerian workers. The bill includes provisions for the new national minimum wage and its legal framework.

Additionally, President Tinubu requested amendments to the Nigeria Police Act, specifically regarding the appointment and tenure of the Inspector General of Police. This amendment aims to align the Act with Section 58 of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
