President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday presented the 2025 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly. Titled “Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity,” the ₦26.1 trillion proposal prioritizes security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture to address Nigeria's challenges and foster growth. Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s foundation while advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Security remains a top priority with ₦4.91 trillion allocated to defence and security. The President emphasized the need to empower armed forces and law enforcement with modern tools and technology to combat insurgency, banditry, and other threats. Tinubu stressed that peace is essential for productivity, economic revival, and rebuilding communities, vowing to restore safety across the nation.

Infrastructure investment is central to the budget, with ₦4.06 trillion set aside for transformative projects like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Sokoto-Badagry Highway. By leveraging private sector capital, the administration aims to accelerate job creation and economic growth. Tinubu highlighted the importance of energy, transportation, and public works in driving national progress.

The budget also earmarks ₦3.52 trillion for education and ₦2.48 trillion for healthcare. Over ₦826 billion is allocated for educational infrastructure, including nine new higher institutions, while ₦402 billion will improve healthcare facilities. Tinubu affirmed his administration's commitment to food security through increased agricultural production and support for farmers. Calling for unity and collective action, he described the budget as a roadmap to rewrite Nigeria’s narrative and usher in a brighter future.
