President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on a condolence visit following last Sunday’s attack in the Angwan Rukuba area, which left at least 27 people dead.
The President was received by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and other senior government officials.
Tinubu had earlier condemned the Jos attack, as well as a separate incident in Kahir village in Kaduna State, where wedding guests were reportedly killed and abducted. Describing the attacks as “barbaric and cowardly,” he vowed that those responsible would be brought to justice.
“Anyone who will sneak under the cover of the night and kill defenceless citizens as done in Jos and Kahir village is a heartless coward,” the President said through his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.

He also commended Governor Mutfwang for his response in managing the situation and directed security agencies to intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators.
Tinubu further warned against framing the attacks along religious lines, cautioning that such narratives could worsen tensions and fuel further violence.
