A member of the House of Representatives representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Hon. Remi Oseni, has described President Bola Tinubu’s student loan scheme as “a pathway to liberation” for millions of young Nigerians striving for access to quality education and a brighter future.
Oseni made this statement on Saturday during an endorsement rally for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his 2027 re-election bid, held in Apata, Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The rally attracted thousands of artisans, traders, youth groups, and political stakeholders from across the state. It also marked one year of grassroots mobilisation by the Remi Oseni Campaign Organisation Foundation (ROCOF), a movement Oseni founded to promote progress, equity, and empowerment for workers and traders.
Sharing his personal story, Oseni said, “I became who I am today because I benefited from free education. That is why I’m deeply inspired by President Tinubu’s student loan scheme. It is one of the most visionary policies of this administration — a gateway to freedom for every Nigerian youth who desires education but is limited by finances.”
He added that the initiative would help close the gap between the rich and the poor by giving children from humble backgrounds the opportunity to pursue higher education and achieve their dreams without being held back by economic hardship.
“It’s about enlightenment,” he continued. “The ability to read and write liberates you from the prison of ignorance. That’s what this student loan policy offers — a chance for every willing Nigerian youth to break free and become productive citizens.”
Oseni praised President Tinubu for prioritising human capital development despite the nation’s economic challenges, describing the student loan scheme as a legacy policy that would shape Nigeria’s future.
“The scheme is not just an education policy; it’s a social reformation strategy — ensuring that no Nigerian child is denied the chance to learn because of financial constraints. For this, we must appreciate and support the President,” he said.
He reaffirmed ROCOF’s commitment to empowering artisans, traders, women, and youth across Oyo State, saying the movement is not only political but developmental.
“Our mission is to liberate our people — not through violence or propaganda, but through empowerment, education, and economic opportunities. We’re not just interested in holding political offices; we want to transform lives,” Oseni stated.

Addressing speculation about his political ambitions, Oseni dismissed rumours that he was eyeing the governorship seat, clarifying that his focus remains on supporting President Tinubu’s administration and securing victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
“For me, this is not about personal ambition,” he said. “I haven’t told anyone that I’m running for governor. People only assume that because of the work we’re doing. My immediate goal is to deliver one million votes for Tinubu in 2027 and to return the APC to Agodi Government House.”
