Troops Kill Over 20 Terrorists, Bust Supply Chains in North-East Offensive

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have intensified the heat on insurgents in the North-East, neutralising more than 20 terrorists, arresting several collaborators, and intercepting critical supplies meant for their operations.

According to a military source who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the operations, conducted between August 23 and 30, covered multiple locations in Borno and Yobe States, including Gujba, Gubio, Sabsawa, Whumtakum, Mandarari, Gajigana, Konduga, Banki, and Loskori Kura.

Weapons and Fertiliser Cache Seized

The offensives, backed by the Air Component and local security outfits, led to the recovery of AK-47 rifles, Rocket-Propelled Grenade tubes, bombs, hundreds of rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and other logistics items.

Troops also safely detonated improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and intercepted 242 bags of NPK fertiliser, which terrorists often use to produce explosives.

Insurgents’ Supply Chains Disrupted

The source noted that the operations significantly disrupted insurgent logistics and supply routes, denying terrorists freedom of action and creating safer conditions for socio-economic activities in the region.

The military high command praised the troops for their resilience and professionalism, pledging sustained support to consolidate the gains in the ongoing counter-insurgency efforts.
