Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator, Carter Efe, has announced the temporary suspension of his Twitch account, just days after his historic livestream with Afrobeats superstar Davido.
The livestream, held on December 17, 2025, attracted massive attention online and propelled Carter Efe to the top of Africa’s Twitch rankings, making him the continent’s most-followed streamer with over 405,000 followers.
However, on Monday, the comedian revealed that Twitch had placed a four-month suspension on his account. According to him, the platform cited violations of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, although no specific details were given about the alleged breaches.
The suspension comes shortly after Carter Efe surpassed other prominent Nigerian streamers, including Shank Comics, and hosted one of the most-watched livestreams on Twitch with Davido.
The announcement triggered an outpouring of support from fans, who took to his social media pages to express disappointment and solidarity. Many described him as a “joy giver” and appealed to Twitch to reconsider or review the decision.

Speculation has since surfaced online, with some suggesting that mass reporting over comments or moments during the livestream may have contributed to the suspension. However, claims that Carter Efe had been banned on other platforms have been dismissed as untrue.
The development has dampened the mood of many fans, especially as it coincides with the festive season, with growing calls for Twitch to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
