Two Female Suspects Arrested for Trafficking Five Children in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended two female suspects, Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah, for trafficking five children. The suspects, who were attempting to evade arrest by Sokoto police operatives, were intercepted and arrested on April 27, 2024, at Kagini junction, Abuja.

According to a statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspects were conveying the five children into the Federal Capital Territory in a suspicious manner. The FCT police operatives intervened and arrested them.

In a collaborative effort, the FCT police command has handed over the suspects and victims to the Sokoto state police command for further investigation and prosecution. The Commissioner of Police for the FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, emphasized the importance of parents paying close attention to their children's safety. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police using the emergency contact numbers.

The arrests highlight the commitment of the FCT police command to combating human trafficking and ensuring the safety of residents. The police have encouraged the public to report any similar cases or suspicious activities to help prevent such crimes in the future.
