Vice President Kashim Shettima has reaffirmed Nigeria’s support for a two-state solution as the most dignified path to lasting peace in Palestine.
Shettima made this position known on Wednesday while addressing world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.
“The people of Palestine are not collateral damage in a civilisation searching for order. They are human beings, equal in worth, entitled to the same freedoms and dignities that the rest of us take for granted,” he said.
He added, “This is why we cannot remain indifferent to the devastations of our neighbours, both near and distant. We speak of the aggression and violence meted upon innocent civilians in Gaza and the illegal attack on Qatar.”
