A disturbing video showing a female undergraduate student from Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere, Ekiti State, physically assaulting a fellow student has gone viral on social media. In the video, the aggressor can be seen repeatedly hitting the victim with a stick, disregarding the victim's pleas.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday according to reports, has sparked outrage online. The witness who recorded the video claimed it took place on the university's campus. The victim has been identified as Ajayi Precious Gloria, while the perpetrator is described as a "very popular" Mass Communication student, suggesting a prior relationship between them.
Despite the presence of onlookers during the assault, no one intervened to stop the bully. This incident comes on the heels of a similar case in April, where a female student from Lead British International School in Abuja was subjected to bullying by her peers, prompting calls for justice and a public hearing on bullying in schools by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
