US AFRICOM Commends Nigeria’s Insecurity Combat Strategy, Pledges Continued Support

The United States Africa Command (US AFRICOM) has praised Nigeria's strategic leadership in addressing insecurity across West Africa. During a visit to Nigeria's Defence Headquarters in Abuja, US AFRICOM Commander General Michael Langley acknowledged Nigeria’s effective role in countering terrorism and cross-border crime in the region. Langley was joined by US Ambassador Richard Mills in meetings with Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa.

The US AFRICOM Commander congratulated General Musa on his recent appointment as the Chairman of the ECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Defence Staff, affirming Nigeria's critical leadership in regional security matters.

In his response, General Musa highlighted Nigeria's dedication to fostering regional cooperation and called for increased support from the United States in defense training, intelligence sharing, and streamlined access to vital military resources. General Musa expressed confidence in deepening the partnership with AFRICOM to enhance the stability of West Africa.
