Vice President Kashim Shettima, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, disbursed N150,000 grants to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Enugu State yesterday. The grants are part of the administration's commitment to fostering economic growth and supporting small businesses across the nation. Shettima also inaugurated Nigeria’s largest Ultra-Modern MSME Fashion Hub in the Enugu State capital, designed to enhance business activities and transform the fashion industry in the Southeast region.
Shettima reiterated President Tinubu's focus on creating an enabling business environment for MSMEs, transforming them into strong enterprises that drive economic growth. "The President’s commitment to creating a business environment that provides incentives and opportunities for MSMEs is unwavering," he said, stressing the importance of these enterprises to Nigeria’s economy.

He also praised Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah for his efforts in lifting the state out of poverty and transforming it into a hub of economic prosperity. Shettima expressed admiration for the state’s new initiatives in infrastructure, water supply, and security, attributing Enugu's recent progress to Mbah’s leadership.
Highlighting the administration's commitment to addressing the region’s infrastructure challenges, Shettima said plans are underway to work with the National Assembly and Southeast governors to tackle the erosion menace affecting the livelihoods of many in the region. He assured the people that the government is focused on addressing these infrastructural deficits and supporting long-term economic development in the Southeast.
Governor Mbah also lauded Shettima’s leadership and noted the importance of MSMEs in the economic framework of the state and the nation. He emphasized the significance of policies aimed at supporting the ease of doing business and improving critical enablers like infrastructure and security.
Shettima further confirmed that the N150,000 MSME grants are outright, non-repayable, reflecting the Tinubu administration’s dedication to empowering small business owners and driving sustainable economic growth.
