Vice President Kashim Shettima will embark on a two-day visit to Sweden, representing Nigeria in high-level bilateral discussions. His visit, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, aims to strengthen ties between Nigeria and Sweden in key sectors such as ICT, innovation, education, and agriculture. Shettima will hold meetings with prominent Swedish officials, including Crown Princess Victoria and the Swedish Prime Minister.
A key highlight of the trip is his engagement with Norrsken, a Stockholm-based venture capital firm that recently launched Norrsken22, a $205 million tech investment fund for Africa. With 40% of the fund expected to go to Nigerian entrepreneurs, the Vice President will explore how this can bolster Nigeria's growing tech ecosystem.
In addition to government meetings, Shettima will meet with private sector leaders and showcase Nigeria’s economic vision and ongoing reforms aimed at creating a more business-friendly environment for investors. A private sector bloc of 12 Nigerian companies will also accompany him to strengthen business ties with Swedish counterparts.
The Vice President is scheduled to return to Nigeria on Saturday after concluding the bilateral engagements.
