WTO Director General Prof. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has urged Nigerian politicians to stop using her name and image for their political battles. The former Finance Minister's warning came after a viral post falsely claimed she criticized President Bola Tinubu's subsidy removal policy and the rising national debt.
The misleading post quoted Okonjo-Iweala as saying that Nigeria's debt had surged to 24 trillion Naira in just two months after the subsidy removal. The post also claimed she had tried to advise the current administration but was rebuffed by its officials.
