A tragic incident unfolded in Lagos State as a 10-year-old boy, identified as Israel, reportedly strangled his friend, Ezekiel, during a football match in the Powerline area of Ejigbo. The altercation between the two friends took a fatal turn on Friday, resulting in Ezekiel losing consciousness and eventually ceasing to breathe. Israel's mother's shop served as the backdrop for the tragic event.
Upon receiving the report, the Ejigbo Division was informed of the heartbreaking incident. The late Ezekiel was rushed to a nearby hospital, where his death was confirmed by attending medical personnel. Detectives visited the scene to gather evidence, and the body was subsequently transferred to the General Hospital in Isolo for further examination.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect, Israel, is currently in police custody. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, and the body of the deceased has been placed in the mortuary for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
