The Federal Government has successfully repatriated 190 Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The returnees were received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday at around 5:57 am by a combined team of government officials led by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
According to a statement by NEMA Director General Zubaida Umar, the returnees were charged to conduct themselves civilly. The statement, signed by NEMA North Central Zonal Director Bashir Idris Garga on behalf of the DG, emphasized the importance of decorum and responsibility upon their return to Nigeria.
The returnees were profiled and documented by relevant agencies, who also provided sensitization on expected behavior. The Federal Government urged all Nigerians to act as exemplary ambassadors of their country, upholding the values of patriotism, rule of law, decency, and integrity wherever they may be.
