The University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK, has unveiled scholarships valued at £33,150 (N44.3 million) and a £4000 (N5.3 million) transportation grant for Nigerians pursuing master's programs. These scholarships, known as the David Sainsbury Scholarships in Global Plant Health, cover all expenses for students embarking on UK study trips.

These scholarships are open to Nigerian and international students interested in pursuing master's programs on scholarships, including travel costs. The scholarships are specifically for the MSc in Plant Health at the University of East Anglia for the 2024/2025 academic year.

The University of East Anglia scholarships include coverage for tuition fees, living stipends, and transportation allowances. The scholarship offers a total of £33,150 (N44.3 million) and a transportation grant of £4000 (N5.3 million).

Applicants must first apply and be admitted to the University of East Anglia before they are considered for the scholarships, according to the school's website. Candidates will automatically be considered for the scholarship based on their application for course enrollment. The criteria include academic achievements and awards, as well as knowledge and experience in molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, statistics, laboratory skills, and independent study.

For Nigerian applicants, self-funded students applying for a Master's course at UEA starting in September 2024 will automatically receive the UEA Nigeria Award scholarship. The scholarship is valued at £4,000 and £5,000, depending on the final undergraduate grade. The application deadline for these scholarships is May 31, 2024. Founded in 1963, the University of East Anglia is located in Norwich, a historic city in the east of England.
