In a celebratory event marking a key moment in the careers of many, the Nigeria Police Force, Katsina State Command, on Monday decorated 589 newly promoted officers with their new ranks at the command headquarters in Katsina.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, presided over the decoration ceremony, urging the officers to double their efforts in service to the nation. He described the occasion as a milestone that reflects the dedication, resilience, and commitment of the promoted officers to the values of the Force.
“Promotion comes with higher responsibilities,” CP Shehu said, as he congratulated the officers and encouraged them to live up to the trust reposed in them.
The decoration was conducted in the presence of the officers’ family members, senior police personnel, friends, and well-wishers. Members of the command’s management team joined in adorning the officers with their new insignia.
Among the newly promoted are three officers elevated to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). Others moved up from Sergeant to Inspector, and Corporal to Sergeant.
The CP expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and the Police Service Commission (PSC) for approving the promotions, stating that it will boost morale and enhance service delivery across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, ACP Abdullahi Muhammad Dattijo, Assistant Commissioner in charge of Finance and Administration, thanked the IGP, PSC, and CP Shehu for their support, promising that the newly promoted officers will rededicate themselves to duty and uphold the values of the Nigeria Police Force.
