Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has been officially inducted as a voting member of the Recording Academy, the body behind the prestigious GRAMMY Davido Becomes Voting Member of Recording Academy Ahead of 2026 GRAMMYsAwards.
The new role means the Feel crooner, who earned three GRAMMY nominations in 2024, will now participate in the nomination and final-ballot process for the 2026 GRAMMY Awards.
The Recording Academy confirmed his membership in an Instagram post on Tuesday, sharing a video featuring Davido alongside other newly admitted members.
It wrote:

Reacting to the milestone, Davido said joining the Academy was a chance to make his voice count in shaping the global music industry.
“Understanding the importance of how our voices are heard, I am participating in the GRAMMY Award process. It is a game-changer. I have learned that voting empowers you to have a say in what is considered and voted on in each season. I am honoured to be part of the Recording Academy community, and I look forward to voting,” he said.
Davido’s inclusion is part of the Academy’s ongoing drive to broaden and diversify its membership, bringing in more African and international voices into the fold.
The Academy further disclosed that voting for the 2026 GRAMMYs will open on October 3, 2025.
