Munich’s Allianz Arena to host 2028 Champions League final

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena has emerged as the only candidate to host the 2028 UEFA Champions League final, while Wembley Stadium in London and the renovated Camp Nou in Barcelona are in contention to stage the 2029 final, UEFA announced on Friday.

Munich’s Allianz Arena stood unopposed in the bidding process for the 2028 edition, just three years after hosting the 2025 final where Paris Saint-Germain defeated Inter Milan 5–0.

The German city has a rich history with Europe’s biggest club competition, having hosted the final in 1979, 1993, and 1997 at the Olympic Stadium, and more recently in 2012 and 2025 at the Allianz ArArena.
