AAUA Announces 32 First-Class Graduates, Offers Automatic Employment

Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, has announced that 32 students graduated with First Class honours out of the 5,799 students who completed their undergraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The university also revealed that all 32 First Class graduates will be offered automatic employment as Graduate Assistants once they complete their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

Vice Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga Ige, shared the update during a media briefing on activities lined up for the institution’s 14th convocation ceremony. He explained that the university has a long-standing policy of retaining its best-performing students, provided they are interested in building a career in the institution.

He said, “AAUA has a policy that gives automatic employment to its best graduates. So, the 32 First Class graduates can take advantage of this opportunity after their NYSC.”

Breakdown of Graduating Students

Professor Ige gave a detailed breakdown of the graduating class:

32 First Class

1,444 Second Class Upper

3,177 Second Class Lower

582 Third Class

16 Pass

Total Undergraduates: 5,251

Total Postgraduates: 526

32 PhD

492 Master’s

2 Postgraduate Diplomas

22 Diplomas

The Vice Chancellor also noted that this convocation will be his last as the head of the institution.

As part of the ceremony, the convocation lecture will be delivered by Professor Idowu Olayinka, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan.

Professor Ige highlighted the university’s achievements, including consistently securing full accreditation for all academic programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC). He added that his administration has prioritized staff development and maintained high academic standards despite financial challenges.

He praised all staff unions for their cooperation and support, saying their partnership has helped sustain a peaceful and productive academic environment.

The VC concluded by reaffirming the university’s commitment to producing high-quality graduates and advancing research and manpower development.
