Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has cautioned Nigerians against sharing sensitive information about military movements, warning that such actions put the lives of security personnel at serious risk.
The governor gave the warning after visiting soldiers receiving treatment for injuries sustained during a recent ambush by bandits. He said some criminal groups rely on leaked intelligence from informants to plan deadly attacks on troops.
Describing the act as sabotage, AbdulRazaq stressed that security operatives are making significant sacrifices daily to protect the country and should not be undermined by careless information sharing.
During his visit, he met with the Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Nicholas Rume, and the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Abdullah Yussuf.
The governor also expressed condolences to the families of the three soldiers who lost their lives in the attack. As a gesture of support, he announced a donation of N20 million each to the families of the deceased and N5 million each to the injured soldiers.
