Global music star Shakira has officially released “Dai Dai,” the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy.
Shakira announced the release on Friday through her social media platforms, telling fans: “Dai Dai is here. The FIFA World Cup 2026 starts now!”
FIFA also confirmed the release in an official statement, revealing that the song is now available on major streaming platforms worldwide.
According to the football governing body, “Dai Dai” captures the excitement, passion, and global spirit expected to define the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament.
FIFA disclosed that the song would support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aimed at raising $100 million before the end of the tournament to provide children around the world with access to quality education and football opportunities.
The organisation added that Shakira would donate her royalties from the song to the education fund, while Sony Music would contribute an additional $250,000 to support the initiative.
The song delivers strong messages of resilience, ambition, unity, and hope, while also celebrating football culture across the world.
In one of the verses, the artistes referenced football legends and stars including Pelé, Diego Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, David Beckham, and Mohamed Salah among others.
The track also highlights several football nations including Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, France, England, Spain, Germany, South Africa, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, and the United States.
This marks Shakira’s return to the FIFA World Cup stage after the success of her previous tournament songs, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and “La La La” for the 2014 tournament in Brazil.
For Burna Boy, the collaboration further strengthens Nigeria’s growing influence on the global music stage.
