President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, succeeding Is-haq Oloyede whose tenure ends on July 31, 2026.

He studied entirely in the United Kingdom
Aina obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent in 2008.
He later earned a Master’s degree in Internet Computing and Network Security from Loughborough University in 2009 before completing a PhD in Digital Signal Processing at the same institution.
He also attended the Senior Management Programme at Lagos Business School.
He started his career at JAMB
Interestingly, Aina’s professional journey began at JAMB during his National Youth Service Corps programme.
According to the Presidency, his early experience with the examination body exposed him to admissions management and institutional data systems, helping shape his later work in educational reform and digital systems development.
He became a professor at 39
Aina was appointed Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University at the age of 39, making him one of the youngest professors in the discipline in Nigeria.
His promotion was linked to his strong academic research, leadership roles, and contributions to technology-driven solutions.
He has worked with government institutions
Beyond academics, Aina has consulted for both public and private sector organisations.

In 2010, he co-founded Fluid Click Solutions Ltd, a technology and engineering management company involved in education technology, agriculture, hospitality, and vocational training projects.
