JAMB Debunks Viral UTME Result Claiming 394 Score

JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has dismissed a viral UTME result slip claiming that a candidate scored 394 out of 400, describing it as completely fake.

The result, which circulated widely on social media, alleged that a student from Cross River State, Okon Winniefred Sampson, achieved near-perfect scores across four subjects. The post quickly gained attention, with many praising the supposed achievement.

However, JAMB has now clarified that the result is not genuine. In a statement, its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, said the document being shared does not match the board’s official format and should be ignored.

He explained that UTME results are currently “view-only” and are not issued in formats meant for sharing or printing. According to him, the viral slip clearly came from a fabricated template.

Benjamin also pointed out inconsistencies in the registration number shown on the slip, noting that it does not follow JAMB’s system-generated format. These errors, he said, are enough to prove that the result is fraudulent.

The board advised Nigerians to be cautious and rely only on official channels for accurate information about UTME results. It also reminded the public that all results remain accessible only through JAMB’s approved platforms for now.
