ADC Unveils David Okumgba as Rivers Deputy Governorship Candidate for 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced David Okumgba as its deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Rivers State.

The announcement was made by the party’s Rivers State Chairman, Chukwudi Dimgba, who confirmed that Okumgba will run alongside the party’s governorship candidate and former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr Gabriel Pidomson.

Dimgba described Okumgba as an experienced politician with a strong record in both public service and party administration. According to him, Okumgba has held several leadership positions, including serving as the South-South Zonal Secretary and Zonal Publicity Secretary of a major political party. He also previously chaired the Appeal Committee for Senatorial Primaries in Edo State and contested for a seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The party said the Pidomson-Okumgba ticket reflects its commitment to competent leadership, transparency, accountability and inclusive governance.

Dimgba expressed confidence that the duo possesses the experience and vision needed to move Rivers State forward, urging party members and residents to support their candidacy ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to building a united movement focused on delivering good governance, economic growth, improved security and equal opportunities for the people of Rivers State.
