The Adamawa Police Command has apprehended 15 individuals linked to the infamous Shila Boys cult in the state. These young people were routinely picked up by the police in groups, often found in possession of stolen phones, cash, and other items, along with knives and daggers used to coerce victims into surrendering their belongings. In a recent statement, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed that the suspects were found with nine mobile phones, a POS machine, various dangerous weapons, and illicit substances.
Among those arrested are Abdullahi Shuaibu, Auwal Saleh, Usman Abdullahi, Auwal Isah, Usman Ahmadu, Muhammad Abubakar, and Jamilu Hassan. The rest include Abdulsalam Abdullahi, Salisu Umar, Yahya Umaru, Salahudeen Auwal, Yusuf Ahmed, Jamilu Sani, Abraham Joel, and Muhammad Auwal. These arrests took place during the Sallah celebrations, primarily in the metropolitan areas of Yola South and Yola North LGAs, as well as their surroundings.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, expressed gratitude to the residents of Adamawa State for their collaboration in combating armed robbery, housebreaking, and other violent crimes perpetrated by the radical 'Shila' cult group.
