In the early hours of July 3, 2024, Operation Hadin Kai's Air Component conducted aerial bombardments near Degbewa and Chinene, notorious terrorist hideouts in the Mandara mountains. The targeted air strikes resulted in the destruction of multiple terrorist structures and the elimination of several militants.
The decision to carry out these strikes followed several days of intense aerial surveillance over the areas of Chinene and Degbewa. Intelligence gathered revealed a significant gathering of terrorists, who were also suspected of using these locations for manufacturing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and as storage sites.
Unaware of the impending danger, the terrorists were observed moving around the vicinity, falsely assured of their safety from military attacks. The air strikes were then authorized, with aircraft making several passes to ensure the majority of the terrorists were neutralized.
